I am a strong proponent and co-sponsor of important legislation on women’s issues that has passed the State Assembly, including many measures that have been signed into law. I was a co-sponsor of the Women’s Equality Agenda legislation and have worked on issues affecting women and families throughout my over three decades in public service.
I am pleased that we have successfully passed legislation on pay equity, domestic violence prevention, child care, combatting human trafficking, as well as the ground-breaking paid family leave bill that was signed into law this year.
As Counsel and Chief of Staff to Senator Suzi Oppenheimer, I worked on many of these issues, as well as others relating to crimes against women on college campuses, insurance, health care, reproductive freedom, and obstacles faced by women in starting a new business. These issues continue to be a priority for me.
